...a soccer field

Each year I am trying to bake something really cool for Mr. B who loves football. After baking a great stadium last year, I went for something "simpler" this year.

I decided to take a recipe that until now everybody loved and always turns out great: the monster brownies by Cynthia Barcomi.

I had ordered the eatable field from MyToys and the candles, players and gates from Nostalgie im Kinderzimmer ages ago. It was such a great fun to see everything finally getting together.

...a rice krispies treat

This weekend it was girls' night so after we had had our wok (sesame beef, veggies and glass noodles) I surprised the girls with a rice krispies treat, an American dessert not known much over her. I had the idea when reading Cupcakes and Cashmere and then checked out this recipe.

                                            source: Cupcakes and Cashmere

Initially I was a bit troubled with the measures since they were all American but checking similar recipes on Chefkoch.de I decided to do this:

Melt and Brown 120 gramm of butter. When it smells nutty add the marshmallows (one bag - 300 gramm). When they got all soft I added a pit of sea salt and three cups (small coffee cups) of rice krispies.

I had buttered a small oven dish and spread everything with one of my silicon backing "helpers". I put the whole thing in a fridge immediately since I had no time to wait for  it to cool.

The girls loved it and it was so easy to prepare. I was done in 20 minutes max.

By the way if you have troubles finding Rice Krispies in Germany use the Kellog's
Store Finder.

her bathroom with a girly plug

One of the things I recently discovered are bathroom sink plugs. I read about them in several journals and one of my friends got one for Christmas. When I got so excited about this little piece she gave me one for my birthday.

Find them online via amazon or plot.

I got the princess one <3 <3 <3!

...a giant cupcake

When I recently ordered something from Amazon and wanted to avoid the costs for shipping, which I just find useless, I finally gave in and added my long wished for silicon baking dish to the shopping basket.

So the very first occasion that came up I naturally had to try it. I went for Barcomi's awesome carrot cake (but left out the cocos) (from this book). See yourself for the result....

The flowers are by Dr. Oetker and the pearls were left overs from christmas cookies baking.

Refashion

There is always a first...

Having for quite some time now followed a couple of blogs on the daily basis, I found myself wondering if I should not myself engage in blog writing. Not only do I love to write but I also love to bake, create, indulge in interior design and obviously to shop. Plus, I thought for quite some time that I should publish my travelling advises so that people do not themselves have to spend hours browsing through the internet but can actually rely on my tours, notes and first hand advices.

So, when I finally was convinced enough to start this blog, I spent hours thinking about its title. Then it finally hit me: it was some years ago when a friend of mine sent me the song by Martin Kesici entitled "Angel of Berlin" and told me that it so reminded her of me.

For those of you who never came across it:

Meet her on a stormy Monday

Call up in the mess within myself
She was on the road to nowhere
And I was on the road to nowhere myself

How was I to know
All that would cross
How do I deserve
All the love that she gives yeah

CHORUS:
Where have you been
Were was I going
Angel Of Berlin, Angel Of Berlin
You've been so close but I didn't see you
Angel Of Berlin, Angel Of Berlin

How many lonely ways I wondered
How many lonely days I must have missed
I wouldn't wanna listen another
To let me be a better man this time

She makes me sing
She sets me free
And after all
I've got someone to be

CHORUS:
Where have you been
Were was I going
Angel Of Berlin, Angel Of Berlin
You've been so close but I didn't see you
Angel Of Berlin, Angel Of Berlin

How many lonely ways I wondered
How many lonely days I must have missed
I wouldn't wanna listen another
To let me be a better man this time

Tonight's the night
I've never been so alive
This couldn't be a better day
She calls me up
And calms me down
And round and round it goes oh yeah
Oh yeah

CHORUS:
Where have you been
Were was I going
Angel Of Berlin, Angel Of Berlin
You've been so close but I didn't see you
Angel Of Berlin, Angel Of Berlin

How many lonely ways I wondered
How many lonely days I must have missed
I wouldn't wanna listen another
To let me be a better man this time

Searching for nothing I finally found you
Angel of Berlin, Angel of Berlin
I Still can't believe how I could ever breath without
you
Angel Of Berlin
